The goal of the AMINESS project is to promote shipping safety in the Aegean Sea through a web portal offering different levels of access to relevant stakeholders such as ship owners, policy makers, the scientific community and the general public.
The ROADRUNNER project aims to directly address the shortcoming of existing state of the art techniques for both efficient and scalable data analytics, by introducing various optimizations to MapReduce processing, thus enhancing its functionality and improving its performance. In essence, ROADRUNNER intends to propose a new framework for large-scale analysis of Big Data that builds on successful ideas originating from the MapReduce model (scalability) coupled with appropriately adjusted established techniques for query processing and optimization known for decades in the parallel data management community (efficiency).
DART aims to present to the ATM community an understanding on what can be achieved today in trajectory prediction by using data-driven models, also accounting for network complexity effects. It is expected that data-driven techniques help to improve the performance and accuracy of predictions by complementing classical model-based prediction approaches. These improved predictions will enable advanced collaborative decision making processes, which finally will lead to a more efficient ATM procedures.
datAcron addresses core challenges related to the European Big Data Vision towards increasing our abilities to acquire, integrate, process, analyse and visualize data-in-motion and data-at-rest in integrated manners. datAcron will address requirements from the air-traffic management and maritime domains by developing advanced tools for detecting and visualizing threats, abnormal activity, increasing the safety and efficiency of operations related to vessels and airplanes, and further reducing the impact of these operations on the environment.
